Creative & Cultural Skills, Arts Council England and Nesta have joined forces to commission new independent research into the influence of the theatre industry on the wider economy, with a view to gaining a greater understanding of the role of public investment in the arts.
We are aiming to find out how commercial and subsidised theatre features in the careers of artists and practitioners. The survey, which ran from Apri 3rd until June 1st, looked to track the careers of people in the industry, and the talent that has emerged from it, to fully understand the impact that public investment in the sector makes.
The survey has now closed, but findings from the research will be be published in summer 2012. If you have any enquiries about the research, please contact Sam Mitchell, Research Manager at Creative & Cultural Skills at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
